Norwalk Boys Win Masuk Holiday Tournament, 56-48

The boys basketball team defeated host Masuk 56-48 Thursday in the championship game of the Masuk holiday tournament.
Ra'Von Shular and Roy Kane each scored 15 points and Rasheen Thompson added 12 for the Bears, who improved to 4-1.

Thoompson and Saeed Soulemane were named to the all-tournament team from Norwalk was Shular was selected as the MVP.
Christian Terrell had 16 points to lead Masuk (2-3) while Nick Davies added 13 and 10 rebounds for the Panthers. Terrell and Davis also were picked for the all-tourney team.

The Norwalk girls basketball team advanced to the championship game of the Shelton holiday tournament with a 54-43 victory over Bunnell on Wednesday
The Bears (2-3) will face host Shelton in the championship game on Friday at 7 p.m. he Gaelettes advanced with a 63-56 victory over Law.
Katie Schmidt scored 12 points to lead Norwalk, which has won two straight following an 0-3 start.
The contest was close until the fourth quarter when the Bears pulled away from a 33-32 lead by outscoring the Bulldogs 21-11 over the final eight minutes.

Tony Dobbinson and Sam Dorrisaint each scored 22 points as Westhill defeated McMahon 71-57 in the consolation game of the Kuzco tournament.
Yveson Cassamajor added 13 for the Vikings, who improved to 2-2.
Aundray Lathan scored 16 and Andy Mitchell chipped in with 10 for McMahon, which remained winless at 0-5.
McMahon only trailled 45-40 after three quarters but Westhill put away the contest with a 26-17 blitz over the final eight minutes
