Norwalk Girls Basketball Looks For Eighth Straight Win

The girls basketball team guns for its eighth straight victory on Tuesday when the Bears visit Greenwich in a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
Norwalk (7-3) has not lost since opening the season 0-3 and posted a 45-38 victory over Fairfield Ludlowe last Thursday.

Tuesday's encounter starts a three-game homestand for the Bears that also includes games against Wilton on Thursday and a showdown against Trumbull on Jan. 24.
Greenwich (1-10) is looking to snap a 10-game losing streak. The Cardinals are coming off a 41-29 loss to Darien.

McMahon, which has dropped seven of eight to fall to 3-8, hosts Trumbull at 5:30 p.m.
This might not be a good time for the Sentors to play Trumbull as the Eagles had their 30-game FCIAC winning streak snapped with a 51-41 loss to St. Joseph on Friday.
In boys action, Norwalk (6-3) hosts Greenwich (8-1) in a battle of FCIAC hopefuls and McMahon (1-8) visits Trumbull (4-4) in 7 p.m. starts.
Norwalk, which snapped a two-game losing streak with a 60-51 victory over Fairfield Ludlowe on Thursday, will try to cool off the FCIAC's most surprising team.
Greenwich, which won just four games last season, extended its winning streak to six games with a 57-25 victory over Darien on Friday.

Forest Savage had a four-point game Monday, leading the Staples-Weston-Shelton boys hockey team to an 8-1 victory over Norwalk-McMahon.
Savage scored two goals and added a pair of assists for the Wreckers (6-1), who rebounded from their first loss of the season, a 4-2 setback to Trumbull on Saturday.
Norwalk-McMahon suffered its third straight loss and dropped to 2-5. It had allowed a combined 18 goals in its previous two games against New Canaan (9-1) and Greenwich (9-2).
