Stamford native will make his first local appearance as manager of the Boston Red Sox on Jan. 29, when he will join popular broadcaster Ed Randall for a baseball conversation at Rippowam Middle School, Valentine's old high school.
The hot stove session will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 4:45 p.m.. The middle school is located on 381 High Ridge Road in Stamford.

The event will benefit Randall's fan's for the cure, prostate cancer awareness program. Attendees will have an opportunity to win Red Sox tickets, autographed items and more.
Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. They are available at Bobby V's Sports Gallery Cafe in Stamford or online at www.fans4thecure.org.

The Wilton boys basketball team pulled off a major shocker Thursday, upsetting Norwalk 67-62 in overtime.
Austin Wilbur poured in 27 points for the Warriors, who improved to 4-6, doubling their win total from last season (2-18).
Max Mudsley added 15 points for Wilton while Chris Nugent had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Warriors. Wilbur also grabbed eight rebounds.
Rasheen Thompson scored 23 points and Jabari Dear added 10 for the Bears, who dropped to 7-5.
Norwalk opened a 32-26 halftime lead, but Wilton outscored the Bears 14-5 in the third quarter to take a 40-37 lead into the final period. The contest was tied at 57-57 after regulation.

The Wilton girls made it a sweep of the Bears on Thursday by rallying for a 50-40 victory in Norwalk.
Maddy Fulton scored 12 points and Casey Pearsall added nine for the Warriors (8-2, 8-3), who tied idle St. Joseph for first place in the FCIAC East.
The loss snapped an eight-game winning streak for Norwalk, which dropped to 8-4 overall and 6-4 in the FCIAC.
Emma Oyomba scored 19 points and Katie Schmidt added seven for the Bears, who took a 34-31 lead into the fourth quarter before Wilton took over with a 19-6 burst in the fourth quarter.
