McMahon Boys Routed By Westhill, Drop To 1-10

The Westhill boys basketball team is simply a stronger unit with Chris Walters in the lineup.
Walters, who missed the first five games of the season because of a knee injury, scored 21 points Friday, leading the Vikings to a 80-52 rout of .

Tony Dobbinson contributed 19 points and Sam Dorissiant added 15 for the Vikings, who improved to 7-3 following their second straight victory.
Westhill built leads of 13-6 after the first quarter and 35-25 at halftime. The Vikings then ripped off a 12-0 run to extend their lead to 51-32 in the third quarter and led by as many as 29 points in the fourth period.

Darkym Stroud paced McMahon with a career-high 27 points, but he didn't get much help as the Senators dropped to 1-10. No other McMahon player had more than seven points.

Megan D'Alessandro poured in 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds Friday, leading the Westhill girls basketball team to a 62-37 victory over McMahon.
Steph Roones added 16 points for the Vikings, who improved to 7-5 overall and 6-4 in the FCIAC with a rough schedule of games coming up.
Over its next week games, Westhill will play for of the FCIAC's top teams in Stamford, Danbury, Staples and St. Joseph. The Vikings currently are tied for sixth in the FCIAC standings with Darien and Norwalk.
Westhill jumped out to a 15-7 lead after the first quarter, the put away the game by outscoring McMahon 15-2 in the second period to build a 30-9 cushion at the half.
Kayla Croswell scored 12 points and Jazmine Taylor added 11 for McMahon, which dropped to 3-10 and 3-8.
