Chelsea Piers CT Agrees To Deal With Connecticut Yankees Youth Hockey

is pleased to announce that it has entered into a long-term agreement with the Connecticut Yankees AAA Youth Hockey Club. As part of the agreement Chelsea Piers Connecticut will serve as the year-round ice rink and training center for the Connecticut Yankees.
As part of the announcement, the Connecticut Yankees will also expand the boys and girls AAA program from a spring/summer program to a year-round program. The Connecticut Yankees will field Elite AAA teams at all levels. The Yankees plan to host showcase tournaments throughout the year at Chelsea Piers Connecticut, bringing in AAA teams from all over North America.

"The CT Yankees organization is very excited about this opportunity and partnership with Chelsea Piers. This is a dream come true for the CT Yankees Organization,” commented Bob Crawford, President of the Connecticut Yankees.
“The players will have the opportunity at Chelsea Piers Connecticut to train in a facility that will be the best in the country. This will give players the opportunities to improve their skills both on and off the ice. The CT Yankees Program has always stressed individual skill development for all of its players. "

In addition to the anchor relationship with the Connecticut Yankees organization, Chelsea Piers Connecticut has also signed an agreement with the Skyliners, the premier synchronized skating program in the northeast.
"We are absolutely delighted with the quality of every team, organization and club that will be skating at Chelsea Piers Connecticut. We thank them for their vote of confidence and look foward to delivering a first-class ice rink experience to every skater who uses our facilities," said Matt Stack, Director of Rinks at Chelsea Piers Connecticut.

After clinching a return trip to the state tournament with a 69-54 victory over New Canaan, the girls basketball team faces a tough task on Tuesday when the Bears visit St. Joseph (7 p.m.).
Emma Oyomba is coming off a spectacualar game for the Bears, scoring a career-high 33 points in the win over New Canaan.
Norwalk will be looking for Oyomba, who missed most of last season with a knee injury, to have another strong game against the dangerous Cadets, who are led by the tandem of Nancy Stablein and Jess Jowdy.
St. Joseph has been off since defeating Staples 69-55 on Jan. 24. Jowdy (26) and Stablein (22) combined for 48 points for the Cadets.
St. Joseph (12-2, 10-2) is tied with Trumbull and Wilton for the FCIAC's second-best record with three weeks remaining in the regular season.
Norwalk (9-5, 7-5) is jockeying for playoff position as the Bears are locked in a five-way tie for seventh with Darien, Stamford, Staples and Fairfield Warde).
In other action Tuesday, the McMahon boys (1-12, 1-10) visit Darien (2-11, 1-10) at 7 p.m. and the McMahon girls (3-12, 3-10) host the Blue Wave (8-6, 7-5) in a 5:30 p.m. start.
