Norwalk's junior and senior American Legion teams posted wins on Sunday to advance in their respective state tournaments.
The juniors blanked Danbury South 3-0 for their second straight shutout in the postseason while the seniors routed Unionville, 13-3.

On Monday, the seniors will face Trumbull at Muzzy Field in Bristol at 6:30 p.m. In the other semifinal at Palmer Field, Greenwich takes on Stamford in another zone four showdown.
With the semifinals being an all-Zone Four affair, one is guaranteed to be in the final.

The Norwalk juniors will be on the road at RCP at 4 p.m. with a berth in the main junior Legion tournament on the line. The contest will be played at Cromwell High School.
In Sunday's junior game, Norwalk's Gareth Fancher tossed eight scoreless innings. Norwalk finally broke the deadlock with three runs in the top of the eighth.
In Sunday's senior contest, Norwalk overcame a 90-minute rain delay to rout Unionville. The contest was stopped after seven innings because of the mercy rule.
Kevin Cawley had four hits and drove in three runs for Norwalk while Spencer Jacoby added three hits and two RBI.
On Saturday, the Norwalk senior team defeated Niantic and its ace pitcher Eric Morse, 8-2 at Muzzy Field.
Morse, who pitched for University of Connecticut-Avery Point last year, suffered his first loss of the Legion season.
Kevin Daniele had a two-run single in a three-run third inning before Norwalk broke it open with five runs in the sixth. Patrick Donohue tossed a complete game for Norwalk.
Morse allowed eight runs - six earned - and seven hits over 5 1/3 innings and also walked six.
Teams from zone four went 4-0 in the first round Saturday as Greenwich, Trumbull and Stamford also posted victories.
The Norwalk junior team opened play in the state tournament with an 11-0 win at Rockville that was shortened to six innings because of the mercy rule.
Mike Hughes went the distance for Norwalk, allowing only three hits on a day when the temperature reached nearly 100 degrees.
The 77th Connecticut Open got under way Monday morning at the Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield. The club is hosting the tournament for the sixth time, having previously been the site of the event in 1935, 1938, 1958, 1973 and 1991.
Defending champion Kyle Gallo of Kensington is looking to become the first five-time winner of the tournament. He is coming off an impressive victory at the Massachusetts Open Championship.
The 130-player field includes a number of local players, including Stamford's Mike Ballo Jr., who was the runner-up in the Massachusetts Open Club.
Also entered is recent New England Amateur champion Jeff Hedden of the Black Hall Club.
Other area players include Greenwich's Daniel Balin and David Pastore, Darien's Mike Ballo Jr. and Greg Reilly, Norwalk's Jerry Courville, Weston's Bernie D'Amato, Westport's John Gentile, Wilton's Brian and John Murphy and Fairfield's Brad Worthington.
