The Brien McMahon boys basketball team, which lost to Westhill in the first round of the FCIAC playoffs, is the No. 7 seed in the CIAC Class LL state tournament, which begins Monday. The Vikings are guaranteed at least two home games should they advance. They open at home against No.26 Newtown (10-10) of the South-West Conference, then would play the winner of the game between No. 10 Wilbur Cross (15-5) and No. 23 Notre Dame of West Haven (10-10) in the second round on Wednesday. A possible contest against No. 2 seed St. Joseph could await in the quarterfinals.
