Due to the unyielding rain that washed out the entire FCIAC baseball and softball schedule Wednesday, the Norwalk baseball team missed a chance to clinch an FCIAC playoff spot.
The Bears' scheduled game against Ridgefield was postponed until Saturday. Due to scheduling conflicts arising from three straight days of postponements, Norwalk will be off until hosting Bridgeport Central on Friday.
The Bears, who are seventh in the FCIAC at 10-6, need to win one of their last two games to secure an FCIAC playoff spot. They are one game ahead of ninth-place Greenwich (9-7) and own a tiebreaker advantage over the Cardinals.
Greenwich also is off until Friday when it hosts Staples, meaning the playoff race for the two teams will be put on hold for another 24 hours.
