1. Norwalk boys soccer takes on Farmington

If the Norwalk boys soccer team is going to move on in the Class LL tournament, the Bears are going to have to beat last year's state champion.

The third-seeded Bears (15-2-2), who are coming off a 4-1 win over Westhill, host No. 6 Farmington in a quarterfinal game on Wednesday at  6 p.m.

Farmington advanced with a 1-0 win over Staples in a rematch of last year's state final.

The winner of Wednesday's clash advances to the semifinals against either Glastonbury or Trumbull. The semifinal contest will be played on either Friday or Saturday.

2. Norwalk field hockey looking for trip to state final.

The third-seeded Norwalk field hockey team (14-3-1-0) takes on No. 2 Glastonbury in the semifinals of the Class L tournament on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Sheehan in Wallingford.

The winner will take on either top seed Cheshire or No. 20 Greenwich in the finals on Saturday.

All three state finals will be played at Wethersfield with the times to be determined after the semifinal games.
