The Norwalk native helped Nittany Lions coach Joe Paterno win his 409th career game to become the winningest coach in Division I history.

Redd, who scored on a 3-yard touchdown run with 1:08 remaining to lift the Nittany Lions to the victory, increased his season rushing total to 1,006 yards.

Redd became the 12th Nittany Lion to reach the 1,000-yard mark with his fifth straight game with at least 100 yards. He became the first Penn State tailback with five 100-yard rushing games since Curtis Enis in 1997.

Redd is second in the Big Ten in rushing, averaging 111.8 yards per game. Leader Marcus Coker of Iowa has rushed for only 969 yards, but has played in one fewer contest and is averaging 121.1 yards per outing.

While Penn State improved to 8-1 and is in line to play in the Big Ten championship game, the Nittany Lions have been winning ugly as six of their victories have come by 10 points or less, the most for the team since it won seven such games in 1985.

2. Norwalk football hosts Harding on Monday
