New Canaan is off to a 3-0 start and ranked fourth in the New Haven Register's state media, but the Rams need to cut down on penalties. Last week, they needed a fourth-quarter surge to hold off Fairfield Warde and former assistant coach Duncan Della Volpe, 28-14.
New Canaan fell behind 14-7 early in the fourth quarter before Matt Milano rallied the Rams to 21 unanswered points. In the fourth quarter, Milano threw a 29-yard TD pass to Patrick Newtown and scored on a pair of short TD runs.
McMahon (1-2) is coming off a heartbreaking 24-21 loss to Staples. The Senators appeared on the verge of a major upset, building a 21-7 lead in the fourth quarter, but the Wreckers scored 17 points in the final seven minutes and pulled out the victory on a field goal in the final seconds.
