1. Norwalk boys soccer team to play Staples on Friday
The Norwalk boys soccer team visits defending two-time FCIAC champion Staples on Friday in a key early-season clash.

Staples improved to 5-0 on Wednesday with a 1-0 victory over Ridgefield - its third such game decided by that score this season.
While Staples has yielded only two goals, Norwalk (4-1) has surrendered five and feature a superb goalie in Svet Kozak, who started for the Bears as a freshman last year when they won the FCIAC regular season title.

After suffering a 2-0 loss to Trumbull, the Bears rebounded with a 3-2 win over Westhill in their last outing on Saturday. Norwalk has been off for nearly a week.
Fittingly enough, Staples defeated Norwalk 1-0 last season.

2. MSG Varsity to broadcast Norwalk-Westport football game
Saturday's football game in Norwalk between Staples and McMahon will be broadcast by MSG Varsity on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Connecticut/Westchester/Hudson Valley regions.
The game will be available on Cablevision’s iO TV, Channel 14. Staples comes into the contest with a 2-0 record and ranked fifth in the state while McMahon is 1-1.
