Norwalk Sets Date For First Day Of 2018-19 School Year

NORWALK, CT — School officials have set a date for the first day of the 2018-19 school year following objections from parents and staff over a previously proposed revised date, the Norwalk Hour reported.

According to the Hour, Norwalk's first day of school is set for Wednesday, Aug. 29. The district had previously proposed a last-minute revision to the upcoming school calendar which would have seen the first day take place at the beginning of that week.

The Board of Education voted in favor of keeping the previously approved 2018-19 school calendar during Tuesday's meeting, according to the Hour.
