The boys basketball team improved its FCIAC playoff hopes Friday with an 87-50 laugher over Harding.
Jabari Dear scored 19 points and Rasheen Thompson added 15 for the Bears, who improved to 10-7 overall and 8-7 in the regular season with three games remaining.

The Bears are ninth in the standings, one-half game behind Greenwich, Bridgeport Central and Stamford, who are tied for sixth at 8-6.
Delshawn Wilson and Ra'Von Shular also reached double figures for Norwalk with 10 points apiece.

The Bears took control early, building a 22-9 lead after the first quarter and extending it to 45-25 at the intermission.
Norwalk then outscored Harding 19-11 in the third period to take a 64-36 cushion into the final period.
Steven Walker scored 10 points and Tyrone Killings added nine to lead Harding, which dropped to 3-13 and 2-12.

The undefeated St. Joseph High School boys basketball team enjoyed a laugher Friday, rolling to a 91-49 victory over McMahon in an FCIAC mismatch.
James Jennings scored 17 points and Patrick Hopkins added 16 in the Cadets' well-balanced attack. Quincy McKnight and Timajh Parker each added a dozen for St. Joseph.
In the first half, the Cadets' offense was unstoppable againt the defenseless Senators as St. Joseph raced to a 57-25 halftime lead.
It was a bit better in the second half, when St. Joseph only outscored McMahon 34-24 with the outcome of the game no longer in doubt.
St. Joseph improved to 16-0 overall and 14-0 in the FCIAC.
Darkym Stroud scored 12 points to pace McMahon, which dropped to 2-14 and 2-12.
Parker also grabbed 11 rebounds for St. Joseph while Jennings and McKnight each handed out six assists.

The Norwalk girls basketball team cliched a likely FCIAC playoff spot with a 68-25 victory over Harding on Friday.
Denisha Gardener and Emma Oyomba each scored 14 points for the Bears, who improved to 13-5 overall and 11-5 in the FCIAC. Norwalk is sixth in the conference standings with a two-game lead over Darien and Staples, who are tied for ninth at 9-7.
Briana Ruffin added 10 points for the Bears, who held Harding to single figures in each of the first three quarters.
Norwalk led 17-5 after the first quarter, 33-12 at the half and 47-13 after three periods.
Jhanelle Martin scored six points to lead Harding, which dropped to 4-14.
Norwalk can secure an FCIAC playoff spot with win over Bridgeport Central on Monday (5:45 p.m.).

Nancy Stablein scored 23 points Jenn Vasquez added 17 Friday, leading the St. Joseph girls basketball team to a 63-44 victory over McMahon on Friday.
The Cadets, who are in first place in the FCIAC East, improved to 15-3 overall and 13-3 in conference play.
St. Joseph opened a 13-8 lead after the first quarter before McMahon closed within 28-26 at the half, but the Cadets took control in the third quarter, outscoring the Senators 17-8 to extend their margin to 45-34.
Jazmin Taylor scored 12 points to lead McMahon, which dropped to 3-15 and 3-13. Taylor and Aleigh Fitzpatrick (eight points) each had 10 rebounds for the Senators.
