FCIAC wrestling champion Brandon Riggins of Norwalk and three-time FCIAC champion gymnast Chelsea LeVander of Wilton are this week's winners of MSG Varsity’s FCIAC Players of the Week awards.
Riggins, a senior, was the No. 1 seed at 195 pounds in the FCIAC championships and and won his weight class by going 3-0 with three pins. None of his matches went more than two periods, as his pins were in 0:23, 3:14 and 3:10.

Levander, also a senior, captured her third consecutive FCIAC all-around gymnastics championship by scoring 37.75 points in the conference finals last Saturday. She also swept all four events and was the only gymnast to score a 9 or higher in any event.
Recipients of the FCIAC Player of the Week Award are chosen by a committee consisting of four FCIAC athletic directors along with area sports writers.

The Westhill boys basketball team posted a wild 85-83 overtime victory over Norwalk High School on Wednesday to clinch an FCIAC playoff spot.
Mark Edwin scored the winning basket for the Vikings with two seconds left after Romario Narine made a four-point play for Westhill with eight seconds remaining.
Chris Walters scored 29 points for the Vikings (13-5, 12-4), who trailed by four with under 30 seconds remaining in overtime.
Tony Dobbinson scored 15 points and San Dorrisant added 11 for the Vikings, who trailed 11-0 early in the first quarter.
The loss damaged Norwalk's FCIAC playoff hopes as the Bears dropped to 10-9 and 8-9. With only one game left, Norwalk will need a lot of help as it is has dropped to 14th in the standings.
They fell despite a spectacular game by Ra'von Shular, who scored 28 points, including six 3-pointers.
Roy Kane Jr. scored 15 points and Rasheen Thompson added 10 for Norwalk, which led 57-54 after three quarters. The contest was tied 79-79 after regulation.

The Fairfield Ludlowe boys basketball team continued its late surge Wednesday with a 63-49 victory over McMahon.
Mark Malone poured in 21 points for the Falcons, who improved 8-10 overall and 8-8 in the FCIAC with their fifth consecutive victory. The win also allowed the Falcons to clinch a state tournament berth after they were 3-10 at one
point of the season.
Justin Berardino added 17 points, including four 3-pointers, for Ludlowe, while David Kinsley chipped in with eight points.
The Falcons led 15-11 after the first quarter before McMahon pulled within 29-28 at the intermission.
Ludlowe, however, put away the contest with a 19-8 surge in the third quarter that enabled the Falcons to take a 48-36 advantage linto the final period.
Larry McKinney scored 14 points and Darkym Stroud added 11 for McMahon, which dropped to 3-15.
With games next week against Trumbull and Darien, Ludlowe still has a chance to make the FCIAC playoffs.

The Norwalk girls basketball team rallied for a 58-50 victory over Westhill on Wednesday after trailing by four points in the third quarter.
Emma Oyomba scored 15 points and Alexis Noonan added 14 for the Bears, who finished the regular season 15-5 overall and 13-5 in the FCIAC.
Norwalk secured the No. 5 seed in the FCIAC playoffs and will play at No. 4 in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Norwalk lost to Wilton 48-40 on Jan. 19.
Erica Cohens added 13 for the Bears, who took control with a 17-10 spurt in the third quarter to open a 37-31 lead entering the final period. Westhill led 21-20 at the half.
Oyomba also grabbed 18 rebounds for Norwalk.
Megan D'Alessandro scored 17 points and Allyson Souza added 10 for Westhill, which finished the year at 10-10 and 9-9 heading into the state tournament.
