Norwalk Spring Bulky Waste Collection 2026 Details Released By City
Norwalk has opened up its reservation system for spring bulky waste collection, according to the city.
NORWALK, CT — The city has opened up its reservation system for Norwalk's spring bulky waste collection.
According to a news release provided by the city, residents of the Fourth Taxing District who receive city garbage collection are eligible for two bulky waste collections per calendar year.
For the spring collection, residents should check their zone here and follow the directions below to set up a collection time, city officials said.

To make a reservation for their collection time, residents can contact the city's Customer Service department through email at customerservice@norwalkct.gov, by phone at 203-854-3200 (option 0) or the Click & Request app, according to the city.

- For Zone 1 – residents can make a reservation between Feb. 17-27 for a March pickup.
- For Zone 2 - residents can make a reservation between March 16-26 for an April pickup.
- For Zone 3 - residents can make a reservation between April 20-30 for a May pickup.
- For Zone 4 - residents can make a reservation between May 18-28 for a June pickup.
Residents should also be aware that there is a quantity limit of 1 cubic yard of material, approximately 4 feet by 2 feet, according to the city.
Acceptable items include:
- Furniture (couches, chairs, bookcases, etc.).
- Mattresses.
- Rolled rugs or carpets (maximum 4 feet wide).
- Metal items.
- Metal appliances (ovens, washing machines, dryers, etc.).
- Large plastic items (outdoor furniture, children’s toys, etc.).
Unacceptable items include:
- Hazardous waste.
- Appliances containing freon (air conditioners, refrigerators, etc.).
- Electronics.
- Tires.
- Vehicle or motor parts.
- Propane tanks.
- Yard waste.
- Single-stream recycling materials.
- Clothing and textiles.
- Liquid waste (paint).
- Construction or remodeling debris, including.
- Concrete, sheetrock, masonry, toilets, sinks, pipes, shingles, tiles, furnace.
