Norwalk Taxi Driver Buys Teens Beer, Charges Them Double: Police
Police said a Norwalk taxi driver is accused of purchasing beer for teens in Greenwich and charging them double the price for it.
GREENWICH, CT — A taxi driver accused of selling alcohol to teenagers in Greenwich at an inflated rate was arrested over the weekend, according to police. On Sunday, officers noticed several teens in a central Greenwich parking lot with a case of beer, police said.
Upon further investigation, officers determined the teens had contacted Miguel Castillo, 58, of Norwalk, who purchased the beer for them, police said. He then delivered the beer to the teens and charged them almost twice the retail price of the case for it, according to police.
Castillo was charged with risk of injury to a minor and illegal delivery of liquor to a minor.
