Woman Hits Police Officer, Pedestrian With Vehicle In Norwalk: Authorities

The 25-year-old was charged with driving under the influence, police said.

NORWALK, CT — A woman was charged with driving under the influence after she struck a police officer and a pedestrian near her Norwalk home, according to authorities.

Nancy Nava, 25, of Washington Street, was speeding around 2 a.m. Saturday when her vehicle hit a parked police car, as well as the two victims, both of whom were injured, police said. The pedestrian refused treatment but the officer was taken to Norwalk Hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to authorities.

Nava failed field sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and reckless driving, police said. Her bond was set at $50,000 and she is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 8, according to police.
