Youth Football Coach Assaulted By Parent During Game In Norwalk: Report
Police are investigating after a youth football coach was reportedly assaulted by a parent during a game on Sunday.
NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk youth football coach was injured after being assaulted by a parent during an eighth-grade game on Sunday, according to The Hour.
The Hour reports Norwalk Junior Football and Cheer League Commissioner Jeff Fatone sent a message to families saying the league was “shocked and disappointed” by the “unacceptable actions” that happened on the field.
The Norwalk Police Department announced Monday afternoon that it is investigating an assault that happened around 1 p.m. on the Brien McMahon High School football field on Oct. 2.

“We are working quickly to find and hold accountable any individual responsible for criminal behavior in this incident; no further information will be released until that time,” police wrote in a news release.
The Hour is reporting that the coach was struck with a helmet.
