Bears stay in the FCIAC playoff race with a critical 6-0 victory over the Senators
Norwalk's James Cooksey did not let the elements bother him in the least.
Pitching in the rainy and windy conditions, the senior righthander tossed a no-hitter Monday as the Bears defeated cross-town rival McMahon 6-0 to improve their FCIAC playoff hopes.
It was the second gem in the FCIAC in a week as Fairfield Warde's Lance Kreizer pitched a perfect game last Monday against Bassick.

Norwalk (11-7, 10-6) began the day tied with Greenwich and Wilton for seventh in the FCIAC playoff race. McMahon (14-4, 12-4) had already clinched an FCIAC playoff spot.
Greenwich lost to Trinity Catholic 4-2 in a rain-shortened game and Wilton's contest against Ridgefield was postponed until Tuesday. Norwalk faces Ridgefield on Wednesday

Cooksey allowed only one runner, walking Chris Holomakoff in the fifth, and struck out seven.
Norwalk managed only five hits, but t0ok advantage of several errors to score five runs in the third inning. Leon Flemming had a run-scoring single in the inning and Kevin Daniele capped the scoring with an RBI triple in the seventh.
