The source of the problem was discovered and corrected.

NORWALK, CT — Students and staff at Kendall Elementary School were briefly evacuated on Friday following a report of an odor of gas in the building, school district officials announced.

The source of the odor was identified by Eversource technicians and remedied, and classes were allowed to resume without too much interruption.

"Thank you to everyone for their quick responses, and to the students and staff who followed all our well-practiced evacuation procedures," district officials wrote in a Facebook post.
