NORWALK, CT — Utopia, a smoke shop and fixture in Norwalk for nearly 50 years, is closing at the end of the month, the owners wrote on Facebook.

The shop, located at 150 Connecticut Ave., is the latest victim of the changing retail landscape. Its last day will be Aug. 31.

"Without going into extreme detail - we’ve done absolutely everything we can to try to survive through the changes in commerce and our economy," the owners wrote. "We live in a digital world, and we simply cannot keep up with the giants of e-commerce. Times have changed, markets are saturated, competition and costs are high."
