NORWALK, CT — Norwalk Police Lt. Art Weisgerber, who was instrumental in the apprehension of the suspect in the Kathleen Flynn homicide investigation, was named Officer of the Month for June 2019, the Norwalk Police Commission announced.

Flynn was murdered in 1986, and it was Weisgerber's persistence in investigating the case that led to last month's arrest of former Norwalk resident Marc Karun.

Karun was charged with murder with special circumstances and first-degree kidnapping, and his next court date is scheduled for Aug. 12 in Stamford Superior Court.
