Obit: Esther Aponte, 57 of Norwalk

Esther M. Aponte was 57 years of age. A life long resident of Norwalk, CT entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 5, 2017 in Bridgeport Hospital.

Esther was surrounded by her daughters and with the love and comfort of her family. Esther was born on December 14, 1959 in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico; she was the beloved daughter of the late Domingo and Catalina Aponte.Esther was known to everyone as a selfless soul. A giver. She truly loved and cared for her children, family and those around her. Anyone that knew Esther, knew that they could count on her for whatever was needed. She was always very loving and supportive. She was well known for her energetic personality, the love of music (especially salsa).

Her favorite color was purple which truly spoke volumes of who Esther was. Calm stability and fierce energy. Esther was extremely generous and spent her time volunteering at various organizations in the Norwalk area. She will be deeply missed.Besides her parents, Esther was predeceased by her brothers: Domingo, Carlos and Daniel Aponte.

She is survived by her companion of 33 years, Tomas Caballero; two daughters, Janessa Caldero of Norwalk, CT and Tammy Caballero of Stamford, CT; eight siblings, Tito, William, Nelson, Tomasa, Nilda, Ana María, Norma and Elizabeth; five grandchildren, Nazae, Jazmine, Jay, Carmello and Jacob; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
