Obit: Jean Fortini, 82 of Norwalk

Jean C. Fortini, age 82, of Norwalk, died on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Simko. Jean was a member as well as a driver for the Norwalk Senior Center for over 25 years and a member of the American Legion, she enjoyed bingo, casino trips, cats and elephant figurines. She was predeceased by her daughters JoAnne Benegoss and Angela Britto, granddaughter Lenisse Schlotterhausen and brother Joseph Simko.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Donna Seal, Jacqueline Fortini and Marie (Peter) Baez, son James (Sharon) Fortini, 16 loving grandchildren and 20 cherished great-grandchildren, as well as a sister Andrea Van Lauvender and numerous other loving relatives.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday June 27, at The Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, from 5 to 7 PM, with a Funeral Service beginning at 6:30 PM. Following the service, friends are invited to The Eagles Club from 7 to 11 PM.
