Obit: Marjorie Carpenter, 90 of Norwalk

Marge was very active with the East Ave United Methodist Church.

Marjorie Carpenter, 90, of Norwalk, beloved wife of the late Earl S. Carpenter, died on Tues. Oct 3, 2017 at the Norwalk Hospital. Born in Ledyard, Iowa on March 17, 1927, the youngest daughter of Sam and Caroline (Steinberg) Weaver, she was predeceased by her siblings. Through the years, Marge was very active with the East Ave United Methodist Church; she ran prayer meetings for 25 years and was a choir and women’s group member.

She is survived by her children, Caroline Ring, David (Debbie) Carpenter, Lynn (Peter) Westfield, and Alan Earl Carpenter, and many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends on Wed., Oct 11 from 6 – 8 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at 10 AM at the Cornerstone Community Church, 718 West Ave, Norwalk, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
