Obituary: Edward Gutkowski, 89, Of Norwalk
Edward had served as a Sergeant in the U.S.Marine Corps and was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in action.

Edward Gutkowski, 89, of Norwalk, died on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the husband of the late Catherine (Spuck) Gutkowski. He was also predeceased by their son, Michael.
Edward had served as a Sergeant in the U.S.Marine Corps and was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in action in Korea. He was a business agent for the Carpenter’s Union, Local # 210. An avid fisherman and member of the Marine Corps League, he enjoyed the Norwalk Senior Center after his retirement.

Ed is survived by his children, Sandi (Stephen) Bodnar of Newtown, Eddie Gutkowski of Norwalk and Susan Ryder of Golden, CO, and grandson Thomas Estes and great-granddaughter Aiden Usher, as well as grandchildren Christopher (Amanda) Bodnar and Stephanie (David) Loewenthal, and six great-grandchildren.
His family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 12 from 3-6 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, with a prayer service beginning at 5:30 p.m. Other services will be held privately by his family.
