Obituary: Edward Joseph Raymond, 93, Of Norwalk
He loved his family, round dancing, his vegetable garden and baking his famous Christmas cookies.

Edward Joseph Raymond, Sr., 93, of Norwalk passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Edward was born on October 3, 1924 in Cicero, Illinois to Michael and Mary (Storto) Raimondo.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army in the 104th Infantry Division, known as the Timberwolves, and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. After being honorably discharged, he married his high school sweetheart, Adele Ann Raymond (Gricius), who predeceased him on January 22, 2013.

Edward went on to obtain his Master’s Degree from DePaul University. He loved his family, round dancing, his vegetable garden and baking his famous Christmas cookies.
Edward is survived by a daughter Cathy Chelstowski (Robert), sons, Michael Edward Raimondi (Caryn), Edward Joseph, Jr., and Joseph Albert (Michael), grandchildren, Christina, William, Gina, James, Anthony, Noah (Corporal, USMC) and Logan, great grandchildren, Alex, Ethan and Max, and many nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his siblings, brother Albert and sisters Lillian and Jenny, and a daughter Regina Sue Frost.

Friends may call on Monday, June 11, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Magner Funeral Home (12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Philip Church in Norwalk at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, with burial to follow at St. John's Cemetery.
