Obituary: Helen Coker, 95, Of Norwalk

Helen was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to travel.

Helen Coker, age 95 of Norwalk, passed away on Saturday morning, August 11, 2018. Born in Rhode Island, Helen moved to Connecticut as a young child, where she spent her remaining years.

She worked at the Schick factory, Yale & Town in Stamford, and Trudy Toys in Norwalk. and was a loving wife to her husband Alvin "Corky" Coker, who predeceased her in 1991. She was also predeceased by her siblings; Charlie, Roger and Tony Pappas, Sally Perna and Joan Bolanis as well as her loving son-in-law Brian Petronella.

Helen was a loving mother to Cynthia (Gary) Berne, Elaine Petronella and Craig (Kim) Coker, grandmother to Debra (Matthew) Angell, Susanne Berne (Mark Chandler), Lindsey Petronella, Corinne and Randy Coker. She also leaves four cherished great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Helen loved to travel in her early years and loved the casino later in life, going to Vegas and Mohegan Sun on a regular basis.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday, Aug 16 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home (12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk). Other services will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in Helen's name.
