In loving memory of Jean Baptiste Genice (April 5, 1929- November 7, 2021)
Jean Baptiste, known to many as “Laens” (pronounced Ly-enz) passed away on Sunday November 7, 2021. Laens was born in Aux Couteaux Haiti. He came to the US at the age of 67 years old where he settled in Norwalk, CT and remained for over 25 years. He is survived by his children: Rosemith Joseph (CT), Evens Genice (CT), Pierre Paul Genice (Haiti), Corneille Genice (Haiti), Edrisse Italis (Haiti), Makenson Genice (CT), Louise Genice (CT), Henriette Genice (CT), Neptia Genice (CT); Twenty three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren
Predeceased by his wife, Elucide; daughter, Alberthe Marie Beaujour, and son Lamothe Genice.
Laens was also a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses (French/creole speaking) in Stamford, CT.
Wake will be held at Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk on Friday, November 19 at 5pm-8pm
Funeral Service will be on Saturday, November 20 at 9am at Church of Nazarene, 146 Main Street, Norwalk. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave. Norwalk, CT
