Obituary: Jean Marion Bonenfant, 56, Of Norwalk

In her short 56 years, Jean built a life filled with laughter, love and unforgettable memories.

Jean Marion (Farmer) Bonenfant passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 after a seven month courageous battle with leukemia. Born on August 19, 1961, she was the daughter of the late James Farmer and Patricia Nemec.

In her short 56 years, Jean built a life filled with laughter, love and unforgettable memories. Jean embodied FUN and incredible strength. She loved the beach, especially Cape Cod where she spent time since childhood, but above all else, “Gia” loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Jean was born and raised in Bridgeport, where she attended catholic school. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Catholic High School, class of 1979. She also attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.

Jean has lived in Norwalk for the past 30 years.

Jean is survived by her daughter Lauren, son Evan, partner Tommy Cossuto and grandchildren, Parker and Jameson King, many nieces, nephews, cousins, “sisters” and friends who became an extension to her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20, at 10 a.m. at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 19, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.

Kindly wear something vibrant and festive, like Jean herself. Bunny ears are also encouraged. The family invites friends and family to a celebration of Jean’s life on Saturday after the funeral – details to come.
