John A. Stumpf, age 77, formerly of Norwalk, passed away on January 17, 2018 surrounded by his family.
John met Judy, the love of his life for 55 years, after moving to a new home in Norwalk across the street from Judy’s childhood home. He was truly the boy next door for Judy, and liked to spoil her everywhere they went. This continued until his final day.

John spent his working career devoted to the Connecticut Light and Power Company (Northeast Utilities) where he began working as a meter reader, and retired after working for many years in the storeroom. John’s true passions during his years living in CT were spending time on his boat on Long Island Sound, or hunting for history along the local countryside.
He loved all history but particularly researching and learning about American Indian cultures. He had a passion for learning, and always looked out for others. He was an avid storyteller, and if you asked him about his family, American Indians or got him talking about his friend Murphy’s old shop you’d get a great story with a smile.
