The following obituary of Norwalk resident Josephine Welz, 95, is from Magner Funeral Home:

Josephine Welz, a longtime resident of Norwalk, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2020. She was a devoted wife of 48 years to her late husband, Alphonse Welz. Jo was born in Forestville, CT on October 7, 1924, daughter of the late Franciszek and Jennie Walczewski, and graduated from New Britain High School in 1943. She was a loving grandmother who was actively involved with her adoring grandchildren.

Jo is survived by her children; Gregory Welz of Norwalk and Margaret Gormley of Wilton; two adored grandchildren, Maurade Gormley and her husband Jason Katz and Ross Gormley of Boston; her great granddaughter Audrey Katz and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Al, Jo was predeceased by her daughter Karen Welz of Palo Alto, California and six siblings, Carl Walczewski, Anna Michalowski, Jennie Levandowski, Mary Roszkowski, and her twin brothers Walter and Stanley Walczewski.

Jo’s legacy will live on in the many lives she touched.
