Obituary: Lenora M. DeMassa, 69, Of Norwalk
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who volunteered at Jefferson Elementary School and worked as a computer teacher in Darien.

It is with deepest sympathies to announce the passing of Lenora M. (Francavilla) DeMassa on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the age of 69. She went peacefully in her sleep towards God’s guiding light to Heaven.
Lenora was born in Norwalk, CT on September 7, 1949 to John and Rosemarie (Santo) Francavilla.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother who volunteered at Jefferson Elementary School in Norwalk, CT while her two sons attended. She then worked as the computer teacher at Hindley Elementary school in Darien, CT followed by several years as a medical transcriptionist.
She was a talented cook and baker, creating and designing dishes, cakes, chocolates, and pastries for weddings, birthdays, and events. She also crocheted hats, shawls, and blankets for her loved ones. Over the years, she won multiple awards for her creations and most recently she added a first premium ribbon at the 2018 Cannon Grange Fair in Wilton, CT for the shawl she crocheted that summer.

Lenora will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years, Ernest DeMassa of Norwalk, CT; her two sons, Douglas (Heather) DeMassa of Ridgefield, CT; Michael (Elisha) DeMassa of Sarasota, FL; and grandchildren; Bradford, Elizabeth, Isabella, Michael, Christopher, and Alexis. She is also survived by her mother, Rosemarie Francavilla of Venice, FL; siblings; Rosemarie (David) Laverdure of Osprey, FL; John Francavilla, Jr. of Venice, FL; Joanne Linarte of Norwalk, CT; and James Francavilla (Jamie Sealander) of Sarasota, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Francavilla, Sr.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at Collins Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.
