Obituary: Louis Nova Paul, 80, Of Norwalk

Louis Nova Paul, age 80, beloved husband of Marie Christine Jean Baptiste Paul passed away on January 21, 2019 at home with his loving family by his side. Louis was born in Haiti on November 27, 1938, and was a son to the late Serveus Paul and Eugenie Dieudone Paul.

In addition to his loving wife, Louis is survived by many. He was a wonderful, loving father to his four daughters; Jean Chinel Paul, Marie Violette Paul, Alta Gracia Paul, Roseline Paul, his son James, and son in law Altiery Telo. He was also blessed with 16 grandchildren; Sophonie Pierre, Webb Pierre, Kinisha Pierre, Shneiden Pierre, Steph Alcena, Jr., Fred Hicena, Kiara Alcena, Briana Alcena, Jamar Alcena, Amber Nicolas Paul, Kevin Paul, Jr., Nachenaina Leccibrun, Rudelka Leccibrun, Rumeily Leccibrun, Zachary James Leccibrun and Ariel Baselais, and one great-grandchild, Ava Pierre. His is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Jean Cetal Paul, Lemeon Paul, Mathalia Paul, Laurence Paul, Loviama, Ancita, Wadchinne Claudia, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. All were very dear to him.

Louis was a police officer for 12 years in Haiti and then enjoyed farming and gardening in his later years. He was a kind and loving husband, father, brother, cousin, uncle, grandfather, and a true friend to many.

He loved all people and was always ready to help anyone in need. He was a great listener and problem solver, and had a special way of making people feel welcomed and making them laugh. He was a kind, caring family man, and a wonderful friend. He will be dearly missed and remembered forever.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hoyt-Cognetta/Lesko Funeral Home in Historic Norwalk. A visitation and funeral mass will follow on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Baptist Church (49 Day Street, Norwalk, CT 06854). Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 12 p.m.
