Obituary: Ralph Taliercio, 86, Of Norwalk

A life-long city resident, Ralph worked as manager of Grand Union's deli department and was a "Life Member" of the South Norwalk Boat Club.

Ralph A. Taliercio, 86, of Norwalk, husband of Mary B. Taliercio, died Saturday, March 5, 2022.

Born in Norwalk, February 25, 1936, son of the late Anthony and Theresa Taliercio, he was a life-long city resident. Mr. Taliercio retired in 2012 as manager of Grand Union’s deli department, after forty-three years with the firm.

Mr. Taliercio joined the South Norwalk Boat Club in 1978, and was made a "Life Member" for his dedication and work at the club. He was also an active member of St. Philip Parish; servicing as an usher/leader. A former member of the Piedmont Club, Mr. Taliercio also enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Ralph was a gentle man with a great sense of humor: always looking to help others.

Survivors in addition to his wife are many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ralph is predeceased by six siblings: Frances Proto, Jack and John Taliercio, Madeline Gallina, Neil and Salvatore Taliercio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 12, at 10 a.m. at St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk, CT 06851. Entombment will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.

Friends may call Friday, March 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.
