Obituary: Raul Garcia-Alvarez, 75, Of Norwalk

Raul Garcia-Alvarez, age 75, of Norwalk died at the Norwalk Hospital on Sunday, May 20. He was the husband of Lilia (Benitez) Garcia.
Raul was born in Puerto Rico on October 18, 1941, the son of the late Luis Garcia and Leonides Alvarez. He was a U.S. Army veteran, worked as a mason for Vona Construction for many years and was very devoted to his family.

In addition to his wife, Raul is survived by his sons Alex Guzman of Norwalk, Martin Garcia-Martinez of Monroe, step-sons Rodrigo and Edgar Guzman of Norwalk, sisters Anna and Carmen Garcia and grandchildren Leonardo, Nicolas, Christian and Sebastian Guzman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church (669 West Avenue, Norwalk). Entombment with full military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery.
