Robert A. Hudak, 74, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, died on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Norwalk Hospital. He was son of the late William and Helen (Domonkos) Hudak.

Robert graduated from Norwalk schools and spent his career providing knowledgeable, courteous service to customers at Rings End, Yankee Lumber and Pergament. A faithful man, the Hungarian Reformed Church in Norwalk was an important place for him to feed his soul and provide lifelong friends.

Robert was a curious man with a wide range of interests, he loved woodworking, drawing, his pets, helping animals, growing his prized apples, writing poetry and riddles and was very proud of his Hungarian heritage. You may have been the lucky recipient of his prose in his handwritten Christmas cards, written with a fountain pen.

He was an ardent reader, taking notes and marking the pages, with interests ranging from political science, history, biography to James Harriot.

He is survived by his aunt Veronica Selwitz, many cousins and numerous cherished, loyal and loving friends.

Friends and family will gather on Monday, February 7, at 1 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk, with graveside services to be held at 2 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to organizations close to Robert’s heart: The Hungarian Reformed Church, The Connecticut State Grange, a local animal shelter, a local Veterans group or JPC Ministries.
