Obituary: Theresa Burnham, 86, Of Norwalk

Theresa Burnham age 86 died on Friday, March 4th, 2022 in Hackettstown Medical Center located in Hackettstown, N.J., with her family by her side.

Theresa was born January 17, 1936 in Norwalk, CT. She was born to Rocco and Teresa Cundari and was their 6th child of 11. She was raised in Norwalk and lived most of her life there. She attended Norwalk public school, and she was very active with The Sisters of Mary at Saint Joseph's church in her young teenage years.

She worked at Lessing Rudner Footwear where she met the love of her life, Harrison (Tex) Burnham. They were married for 59 years. She also worked at Bargain World in the womens department, Wolfpit Elementary School in the kitchen and retired from C.R. Gibson.

Theresa had a great love for playing bingo at the Norwalk American Legion.She enjoyed taking day trips with the Norwalk Senior Center and was a member of the St Ann’s Club. She loved spending time with her family!

Theresa and her husband Tex, purchased their home on Clara Dr in Norwalk in 1963,where they raised their 4 children for 50 years. In 2012 they decided to move to Budd Lake NJ to be closer to their family.

Theresa is survived by her 3 daughters; Teresa m. Smith of Budd Lake NJ, Linda M. Palucci and companion Gary Brensinger of New Ringgold PA, and Diane Tattnall and husband Randy of Monroe CT. Her grandchildren; Kristine Ferenc and husband Stash of Budd Lake NJ, Jimmy Palucci and wife Amanda of Waterbury CT, Tyler Tatnall of Monroe CT, Tori Palucci of Budd Lake NJ, Brianna Palucci of Budd Lake NJ, and Amanda Tatnall of Monroe Ct. Her 4 Great Grandchildren; Stash and Anthony Ferenc of Budd Lake NJ and Aurelia and Beckett Palucci of Waterbury CT, and many nieces and nephews.

Theresa was predeceased by her husband Harrison (Tex) Burnham, son William (Billy) Burnham, Son-in-law William (Bill) Smith, parents Rocco and Teresa Cundari, sisters Frances Piro, Ann Gamberdella, Mary Martin, Margret Howald, and Virginia Falcone, brothers Dominic Cundari, Charles Cundari, Rocco Cundari Jr., James Cundari, and Louis Cundari.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, located at 92 East Ave in Norwalk, CT. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on March 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas The Apostle Church located at 203 East Ave in Norwalk, CT. The Interment will follow at Saint Johns Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk CT.
