Obituary: ​Velma Valiante, 90

Velma Valiante, 90, passed away peacefully at Wilton Meadows Nursing Home on January 16, 2018. She was daughter of the late Alex & Bertha Yuhas of Norwalk.

She was the wife of the late Salvatore “Sarge” Valiante of Saugatuck. She is survived by her son, Thomas Valiante of Saugatuck, her granddaughter, Sarah Valiante and former daughter in law, Mary Valiante, both of Northfield, MA.

Velma was pre-deceased by her daughter Elaine Valiante and her grandson, Jake Valiante. A loving wife and mother, Velma enjoyed her family and spent her life as a devoted caregiver.

A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Saturday January 27, 2018, at The Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Avenue, Westport. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd, Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
