Obituary: William Sansouci Jr., 97, Of Norwalk
In addition to enjoying time with his family and neighbors, Bill was an avid gardener, woodworker, archer, golfer and bowler.

William F. Sansouci Jr. (affectionately known as Bill and Uncle Bill) passed on February 22, 2022, in Schenectady, New York.
Bill was born in Glens Falls, New York on June 23, 1924 of parents William F. Sansouci Sr and Louise (Neddo). Bill's family moved to Norwalk in the late 1930's where Bill would spend the majority of his life.

Graduating from Norwalk High School, he would enlist in the army shortly after Pearl Harbor. As a medical technician, he assisted surgeons while stationed in the south pacific. Bill was always humble in regards to his military service but also proud to have served his country in its time of need.
Returning to Norwalk in 1946, Bill married Lena Rubino with whom he would spend the next 61 years until Lena’s death in 2017. In 2018, Bill moved to upstate New York to be closer to his daughter’s family.

In addition to enjoying time with his family and neighbors, Bill was an avid gardener, woodworker, archer, golfer and bowler, as well as being a diehard Yankees fan.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Louise, wife, Lena and his brother, Edward. He is survived by his children, Karen (Jeffrey) Bixby of Schoharie, New York and William Sansouci III of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Bill is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren – families who brought so much joy to his life.
Bill will be remembered at a funeral service with military honors at St. Matthews Church in Norwalk on March 30, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers and in Bill's memory, the family asks that donations be made to the Mulvoy, Tanlov, Aquino VFW Post 603, 60 County Street, Norwalk, Connecticut 06850.
