Obituary: Yolanda Sullivan, 100, Of Norwalk

She loved to reminisce about her days at the Cordays Necktie Company and took every opportunity to dance to her favorite oldies music.

Yolanda C. Sullivan (affectionately known as Grammy) was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister and dear friend. She passed peacefully with family by her side on Friday morning March 25, 2022.

She was born to Salvitore and Josephine Roggio on September 17, 1921 and grew up in Norwalk CT. She loved to reminisce about her days at the Cordays Necktie Company and took every opportunity to dance to her favorite oldies music. Yolanda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and cooking italian meals for her large family.

She is survived by her five children; Stephen Szabo, Carolyn Tavella, David (Diane) Szabo, Gail Barbee and Allan Szabo and her two stepsons; John and James (Judy) Sullivan. Eight grandchildren; Jennifer (Stephen) Kelly, Phil & Barbara Tavella, Rebecca (Chris) Carter, Kenny (Shirley), Chris, Jonny (Brooke) Barbee and Allan (Teresa) Szabo. Fifteen great grandchildren; Stephen, Emily, Phil, Kyle, Josh, Chloe, Julia, Connor, Charlie, Abby, Jimmy, Adrianna, Nate, Jordyn and Aiden, and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Yolanda is predeceased by her first husband Stephen Szabo, her two sisters; Lucy Sandri and Millie Sesto and her second husband Frank Sullivan all of Norwalk CT.

Yolanda's family extends their gratitude to Vitas and the many caregivers that helped over the years.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday March 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Her Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.
