Opioid Crisis - Meds are not the answer to pain reduction & elimination

Seems like everyday we are hearing stories of the spike in opioid-related deaths. Truth is, medication covers pain not cures it. We can help

Opioids are strong medications that are prescribed for pain. You might recognize some of the names of these drugs; morphine, Oxycodone, Percoset, Vicodin to name a few. Medical professionals are using these drugs as a way to ease patient’s pain, however, at the same time the risk of addiction is apparent and in the end they do nothing to actually FIX the patients pain.

Between 1999 and 2010, there was a 400% increase in opioid sales with no change in reported pain levels. Since 2004, deaths due to opioids increased 2900% in New York state alone!

Amongst a growing alternative movement, Advanced Health Professionals and its physicians are taking a stand against the commonly referred to prescription pad to solve patients pain. Instead, with the help of our highly skilled physicians we know that there is another way...a safer way! And it starts with you.

Our doctors and physical therapists are musculoskeletal experts. Our approach to patient care and pain reduction is most successful when utilizing a variety of knowledge from several disciplines to find the optimal solution and treatment options for the many patients we work with. Our approach uses the body's natural tendency to heal and strengthen itself. It is the best manner to reduce pain because it treats the reason for the pain instead of masking the pain with dangerously addictive meds.

Think of pain like a light turned on. Pain meds like opioids are like a towel thrown over the light. You can't see the light anymore, but it's still on underneath the towel. It is still there! But physical medicine like chiropractic, physical therapy. acupuncture and/or massage therapy work to distinguish the cause of the pain. They are like slowly turning the light to dimming until the pain finally switches off. We work to solve the reason for the pain - not mask it.
