Over 80 Vehicles Stolen From Norwalk Residents In 2023: Police

According to police, over 50 of those vehicles had the keys left inside, and residents are urged to always lock their vehicles.

NORWALK, CT — Over 80 vehicles have been stolen from Norwalk residents this year, many of which had the keys left inside, according to police.

In a news release Wednesday, Police Lt. Tomasz Podgorski said 87 vehicles have been stolen from residents since Jan. 1. Of those vehicles, 55 of them had the keys left inside.

"Norwalk police officers continue to work diligently to arrests suspects in these cases and locate the vehicles," Podgorski said.

According to Podgorski, police implore all Norwalk residents to always lock their car doors and remove all valuables from within the vehicle.

Residents are also urged to never leave their keys or fobs anywhere in the vehicle, no matter how well they think these items are hidden or even if they believe the vehicle is blocked in, Podgorski said.
