PD: Norwalk Man Ditches Gun in Garbage Bin
The man began running from police after they approached him about loitering, police said.

A Norwalk man was arrested after fleeing from officers who were attempting ti disperse loiterers, police said.
Police noticed a group of people loitering in front of the store at 90 South Main St. Nov. 1 around 10 p.m.
Officers approached and a man later identified as Joseph Ray, 22, took off running while holding his waistband, police said.

Officers pursued to the rear of St. Joseph’s Church where he tossed something in a garbage can. They eventually detained him around 74 South Main St. and discovered he tossed a loaded .22 caliber handgun in the garbage.
He was previously arrested on July 17 for carrying a pistol without a permit.

Ray was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, interfering with an officer, loitering about school grounds, possession of a weapon on school grounds and simple trespass.
