Pedestrian Struck, Seriously Injured In Norwalk, Police Say

A pedestrian was hospitalized following an accident Sunday night, according to police.

NORWALK, CT — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured in Norwalk on Sunday, according to police.

Norwalk Combined Dispatch received several 911 calls at 7:43 p.m. reporting that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in the area of 7 Commerce St.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were immediately dispatched.

Officers arrived and found a 29-year-old man in the road.

The victim had suffered serious injuries and was taken to Norwalk Hospital by ambulance.

An initial investigation found that the crash occurred at the intersection of Wall and Commerce streets, police said in a press release.

A vehicle was turning from Wall Street onto Commerce Street while the pedestrian was crossing the intersection when the crash occurred.

The driver remained at the scene of the accident and is cooperating with investigators.
