Pet Bird Rescued From Norwalk House Fire By Firefighters: FD
Fire officials said some ceilings had to be pulled down to access the fire, and the ceiling collapsed in other parts of the home.
NORWALK, CT — Firefighters rescued a pet bird from a house fire that broke out Wednesday afternoon on Tarone Drive.
In a news release, Deputy Fire Chief Steve Shay said the fire, reported around 2 p.m., started in an attic and spread through the length of the home.
The blaze caused extensive damage to the home's ceiling joists, Shay said.

According to Shay, some ceilings had to be pulled down to access the fire, and the ceiling collapsed in other parts of the home. There was also smoke and water damage on every floor of the home.
A resident was able to safely escape the home with both a dog and a cat, Shay said. Firefighters also rescued a pet bird from the home.

No injuries were reported. The fire is still under investigation, Shay said.
