Photos: Explore the Food of India at Patel Brothers

The looks, smells and—especially—the tastes of the subcontinent half a world away from the United States can either look exotic or remind a Patel Bros. customer of a distant home.

The mission of the 35-store Indian supermarket chain is "to continue to educate and expose new generations to the regional diversity of India and the richness of our culture and our food."  

The family-owned company says it tries to bring the best ingredients from around the world to reconnect people with the familiar flavors of India or introduce it them to them for the first time.
