Planet Fitness Celebrates New Club Location In Norwalk

NORWALK, CT — Planet Fitness recently celebrated the grand opening of its new location in Norwalk, located at 360 Connecticut Avenue.

According to a news release, the new $2.3 million club is approximately 20,000 square feet and offers state-of-the-art cardio machines and strength equipment, among other features.

The grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting kicked off with a speaking program that included remarks from Planet Fitness Vice President of Connecticut Operations Mike Shapiro, Mayor Harry Rilling, Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce president Brian Griffin and Norwalk Education Foundation board member Barbara Cafero.

"Following a difficult year for many Connecticut residents, both physically and mentally, we're excited to open our new location and provide the greater Norwalk community with a resource to improve their health and overall well-being," Shapiro said in a news release. "We're grateful for the support from the city of Norwalk, the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce and other local leaders, and we look forward to continuing our work to create a safe, healthy and judgement-free fitness community."

As part of its commitment to the Norwalk community, Planet Fitness donated $1,000 to the Norwalk Education Foundation and will provide a special membership offer to teachers at Norwalk Public Schools when the school year begins in August.

The celebration also featured Marco Pizza Truck, local Norwalk businesses and vendors, raffles, giveaways and other fun activities.

In addition to state-of-the-art cardio machines and strength equipment, the Norwalk club offers a 30-minute express circuit, numerous flat-screen televisions, fully equipped locker rooms with day lockers and showers, HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, tanning beds and more.

The facility will be open and staffed 24 hours per day Monday through Thursday, from 12 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
