Playground In Norwalk Closed Until October Due To Construction
The Allison Wyatt Playground at Oyster Shell Park will be temporarily closed through Sept. 30 due to construction activity in the area.
NORWALK, CT — The Allison Wyatt Playground at Oyster Shell Park will be temporarily closed through Sept. 30 due to construction activity in the area, city officials announced Thursday.
According to the city's Facebook page, the Connecticut Department of Transportation recently informed city officials that the playground will be temporarily closed July 10 through Sept. 30.
The closure ensures park users' safety during improvements to the Oyster Shell Park tidal wetlands, city officials said.

According to city officials, public access to Oyster Shell Park and the Norwalk River Valley Trail will be maintained. Event parking at Oyster Shell Park will be maintained but reduced by approximately 12 spaces.
Pedestrians and cyclists are advised to follow directional signage with construction flaggers on hand for safe access to the trail and walkway during operations. The waterfront sidewalk will be closed to users who will be diverted to the sidewalk near the parking lot, according to city officials.
